Who we are

Heatworx is made by TidyGaff Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in the United Kingdom. We build heat-loss survey software for heating professionals. This policy covers the Heatworx app and the heatworx.io website. If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and a person will answer.

What we collect, and why

Your account. Your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash). We use these to sign you in and to send you account emails — verification, password resets. Nothing else.

Your business profile. If you choose to fill it in: your business name, contact details and accreditations. It exists so your reports carry your letterhead, and for no other reason.

Survey data. The surveys you create: property addresses, room measurements and geometry, construction choices, heating equipment, notes and the heat-loss results computed from them. This is the product — it syncs to our servers so your work is backed up, available across your devices, and shareable with people you choose.

Scanning. The app uses your device's camera and LiDAR sensor to measure rooms. Scanning produces geometry — wall positions, dimensions, openings. No photographs or video are captured or stored by scanning.

Location. When you ask the app to set a property's position, it reads your device location once to fill in the address, altitude and local design weather. We don't track your location in the background, ever.

Support requests. If you contact us through Help & Feedback, we receive your message along with basic device and app-version details so we can actually diagnose the problem.

The website

The heatworx.io website uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use it, which sets cookies in your browser. This applies to the website only — the app itself contains no analytics or tracking of any kind. If you sign up to a mailing list or early-access offer on the site, we use the email you give us for exactly that and nothing else.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We don't read your surveys except where you ask for support on a specific problem or the law requires it.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on our servers and on your own device. A copy remains on your device so the app works offline; it syncs when you're connected.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Delete your account and we delete your account data and the surveys you own from our servers. Data you have shared into someone else's account (for example a report you sent them) remains theirs.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. The app can export your surveys and reports directly, and account deletion is available in the app. For anything else, email [email protected] — we respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top is the date this text last changed.
